Hubby LOVES golf, so this one%26#39;s for all you golfers out there! Which courses are the best in ways of fun and challenging. Are they still open the first of October? How much does golf run around there? I know he doesn%26#39;t like to pay $100 or more for courses--if possible he prefers courses that are cheaper. However, if it%26#39;s really really special - - - . About how much do the courses run?

I haven%26#39;t personally played any of the golf courses in this area, so I can%26#39;t offer any first hand experience, but here is a great website that lists all the courses in this area.

Costs can range from $30 to $125 per round. The closer the course is to the beach the more expensive and generally more difficult with narrow fairways, very rough rough and challenging greens. Lighthouse Sound, Bayside, Rum Pointe, and River Run are all very nice and challenging courses from what I hear.

They have some nice courses down there - unfortunately Sept/October is considered the high season for golf and it is very expensive - you will have trouble finding much for less than $80.
Light house sound is the fanciest course - but it will be a least $150 on a weekend
I would recommend Baywood greens outside of rehobeth - further away - but it is worth the drive - I think it will cost around $100
Eagles landing is probably the least expensive decent course - it is owned by the city.
I think there are ways to play Ocean pines these days - it has traditionally been private - If your huisband belongs to a club at home - I think they let him on the course.
There is a new public course on Rt 50 Glen riddle - that I haven%26#39;t played yet but have heard that it is very nice
Good luck
Many thanks to both of you for the great information! That%26#39;s exactly what I was looking for--hubby is quite thrifty (and I%26#39;m the one with Scots blood! Wonder which he got his thirftyness from: Apaches or Irish %26lt;g%26gt;) I hope I can get him to play at least one nice course even if it%26#39;s around $150. Then he can play the less costly ones afterwards. Thanks again!
Baywood greens is definitely the best value. It is beautifully landscaped.
