Highlights of our 2007 OC vacation

We just got home Friday night from an enjoyable week at Ocean City. I%26#39;m still on a high from the great week we had and wanted to share some highlights with the forum. I also would like to hear about everyone else%26#39;s summer visit to OC this year.

This was the 7th time in OC for my wife and I, the 6th for our daughter, and the very first time for our daughter%26#39;s best friend. Our 22 year old son did not make this trip, as he is in college and working away from home this summer.

Outside of a couple storm scares, the weather was perfect ... the sun was bright and hot, and the breeze on the beach always kept it fairly comfortable. We stayed at the Grand Hotel at 21st/Boardwalk and were very pleased with the positive changes that have been made since our last stay in 2003. The workout room and game room are much improved, and all the shops, lounge, pizzeria, and ice cream store keep the boardwalk area pretty busy until late at night.

Our dining highlights included our all-time favorite Phillips Crab House, Shenanigans, Dumser%26#39;s, and Brass Balls, as well as first-time visits to Tony%26#39;s Pizza, Seacrets, and DaVinci%26#39;s. We went to DaVinci%26#39;s because of the recommendations I had read on this forum, and we were certainly not disappointed. Although we have always enjoyed the Phillips buffet, it seemed to be even better this year. I had read some critical comments on the forum, but in our opinions, Phillips is better than ever!

But the most memorable moments of our trip had to be our first parasailing experience! My wife rode along as an observer, but my daughter, her friend, and I all flew high over the Atlantic for the first time. It was unbelievable! I have always wanted to do it and decided this was going to be the year. I didn%26#39;t know until later, but my daughter and I both had parasailing on our ';Things to do before I die'; lists. Hopefully, we will both get to experience it a few more times while we are on the planet!

I am also hoping that it won%26#39;t be another 4 years before we return to this special place. I%26#39;d like to go back next week!

Don%26#39;t wait 4 years life is to short for that and the years fly by much to quickly.

so, where do you parasail? what was the name of the company you used and where is it located?

We went to OC Bayside Rentals at Dorchester St. and the bay right next to the Marina Deck restaurant. There are a few other companies in that area that offer parasailing, but OC Bayside had the best prices and a very nice boat and equipment. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend them.
