Maybe i didn%26#39;t go back far enough to see if anyone has asked this yet but let me here somE coments on the best crabcake in OC.
every resturant says they do but i want to here it from anyone who%26#39;s tried alot of them.
Tell ya why I%26#39;m ask, I went to all u can eat on i think 22nd street (can%26#39;t remember the name right now) and got a crabcake-it was pretty good.
Next night I went to Phillips and it was about the same, the prices sure were different though.
Just wondering who has the best.
Best Crabcake ??
Many people will say the Captain%26#39;s Galley II in West Ocean City has the best crabcake in the area. Personally, I live down this way and went to Captain%26#39;s Galley once over the winter season about two years ago. It was obvious they weren%26#39;t using real blue crab meat because all the large junks of meat had red colored tips which isn%26#39;t blue crab meat. Maybe I should give it another try.
I like the crabcakes at Marlin Moon Grill, Phillips or Sunset Grille in West Ocean City.
Best Crabcake ??
To tell you the truth, I think Phillips does have the best. Really every restaurant in OC has crabcakes, but some places are better than others. The crab cake factory on 120th street specializes in crab cakes, you can tell by their name. I have never been to the captains galley in West OC, but I have heard many positive comments about the crab cakes. But, like I said, really every restaurant in OC has crab cakes, so it%26#39;s not like you%26#39;ll have a hard time finding a good crab cake. Good Luck.
thanks for the feedback.
It would be pretty cool the taste them all and then come back with a report.
maybe when I retire I%26#39;ll do just that.
thanks agian
I highly recommend the Captain%26#39;s Galley II, especially in the summertime when they have a lot of freshly caught seafood. The restaurant has two levels-an indoor dining area and a outdoor deck upstairs. Both provide beautiful views of the bay. The food is outstanding and is worth the money. I usually get the catch of the day (flounder) and I like the way you can pick how you want it done (fried, baked, etc.). The rest of the family enjoys the crabcakes and we plan to eat at the Captain%26#39;s Galley II again this summer when we go to Ocean City.
Does anyone know where this is located??
West Ocean City, at the commercial fishing harbor.
Take Rt. 50 west and turn left at Golf Course Road. I think it%26#39;s the light where The Wine Rack/Exxon and the Royal Farms Store are on the corners. Go about 1/2 mile and follow the road as it veers left at the end of the harbor. Captain%26#39;s Galley is about 500 feet further down on the left.
Also, in this commercial fishing harbor area is Harborside Restaurant, Crab Alley Restaurant, The Wedge Bar and Grill and Sunset Grille.
We%26#39;ve tried about every crab cake in OC and still return to the Big Pecker every year. They have a fun menu for those that do not want the crab cakes too - although I can%26#39;t imagine anyone not enjoying them.
We do NOT like Phillips%26#39; crabcakes most of the time b/c they often use Ecuadoran crabmeat which tastes quite different (sort of fishy) than MD crabmeat. Phillips is overrated in general most of the time. The Crabcake Factory is supposed to have good crabcakes, but I haven%26#39;t tried them. Shenanigan%26#39;s are my favorite but they%26#39;re not for everyone. If you like fried stuffed shrimp (which almost no one seems to make anymore), you%26#39;d like them. They%26#39;re lightly dusted and fried but not greasy at all. It tastes like the stuffing on a good ol%26#39; fried stuffed shrimp. But if you%26#39;re looking for a traditional MD crabcake, these wouldn%26#39;t be for you. Several of our renters have commented that they really like the Greene Turtle%26#39;s crabcakes.

Crabcake Factory USA on 120th Street has by far the best and they ship them online too. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner they cannot be beat.
Try a Bloody Mary with Crab Lumps Benedict!!!
