Speed Boats

Just wondering if anyone has been on the OC Rocket or the Sea Rocket. We pretty much know what the prices are, not too bad, but just wondering if its even worth it (is it fun? fast? wet?) and also, how long does it last?

Speed Boats

I went on one of them years back. Can%26#39;t remember which one I went on. The boats is really all that fast. It does make alot of noise and you do get wet. What I liked is you get to see some of the ponies, some pretty big trawlers and other ships in West OC. Going thru the inlet out to the ocean is pretty neat. It%26#39;s also pretty cool seeing OC from out on the water. Well worth it in my opinion.

Speed Boats

Go with the OC Rocket. It%26#39;s the yellow one located at the Talbot St. pier. It was designed as a multi-passenger ';speed boat'; where the Sea Rocket (red, white, blue) is a converted WWII era PT Boat which seems to make a lot more noise than anything else.

The rides last about 45 minutes to an hour and the speed will be somewhat determined by the ocean conditions. If the ocean is smooth and flat, you%26#39;ll go fast. If it%26#39;s rough and choppy, you%26#39;ll go slower and your ride will be wetter too.

Either one will be fun and a neat experience. What%26#39;s nice about these boats too, is that they do go out in the ocean where the chance to see dolphins is much greater. If the captain does spot a pod of dolphins, he will slow down and carefully circle around them until everyone has gotten a chance to see them. Then it%26#39;s back to full throttle fun!

Here%26#39;s the link to the OC Rocket:

It says rides are 50 minutes long.

We went on the OC Rocket a few years back. It was a blast. At one point the guy does a 360 turn out in the ocean, but you get warning and get a chance to switch where you%26#39;re sitting to the side where you won%26#39;t get wet. Allot of fun. We are going to OC this weekend and are definitely going to do the speed boat ride again. Have fun. :)

Wow everyone! Thank you SO much! We%26#39;re leaving for our yearly trip tomorrow!! Im so excited! Anyway, we are looking to do a little bit more than just lay on the beach and check out the boardwalk this year, so this should be excellent paired with the crabbing we%26#39;re hoping to do!
