Advise on grocery shopping

I%26#39;ll be travelling through DE and staying in North Ocean City. Where do you suggest for grocery shopping?

Is stopping somewhere in DE worth it?

Is there a good store in North OC?

Advise on grocery shopping

There are two main grocery stores in North OC. Food Lion around 120th st. and a SuperFresh at 115th street at the Gold Coast Mall.

There was a Superfresh at 94th St too. I know the mall part of the strip closed but am pretty sure supermarket is open.

Roses is there too, kind of a catch all store with beach stuff, clothing, etc.

In Ocean City, the Superfresh on 94th was open last year. Pretty sure it still is. Its a nice little store, TONS of hummus if you like that stuff! LOL From what I remember, you%26#39;ll be paying tourist prices there as well.. Think Safeway prices. I%26#39;ve always thought they were expensive. At least where I live they are.

There%26#39;s a Superfresh on 115th st right next to the Gold Coast Mall. I think on 124th st is a Food Lion, and on 94th st there is another one, I think Superfresh.

i personally prefer shopping for most everything at home (in pa) then bringing it down in coolers and buying only really perishible things when we get down (fresh veggies, fruit, etc)....the prices are pretty high and for some reasons, the grocery stores smell a little funny and i think are kind of dirty! that is just my opinion, i am sure you will be fine, that%26#39;s just what we do!

have fun.

The prices at the chains (Food Lion, SuperFresh) are in line with their other stores in the marketing area. For example, you%26#39;ll pay the same at the Food Lion in Salisbury as you do at the Food Lion in Ocean City.

Everyday prices are generally higher at the numerous independent grocers around town than they are at the chains. If you prefer to shop at independent grocers, you will do better inland.

And while prices might seem high to some, others coming from different regions might find them to be quite reasonable. I have friends in north Jersey who usually stock up at the OC Food Lion for dry goods to take back home.
