Parking/Activities/Crab Near Inner Harbor

We are spending two nights in Baltimore, staying at the Residence Inn Downtown/Inner Harbor.

Any suggestions on nearby, cheap parking?

Also, we have an 11-year old and an 11-month old who will be with us. What are the best places to take them?

Finally, I want to try a soft shell crab po boy. Where can I get one?

Thanks.

The Aquarium and the Science Center might be interesting for the 11-year old, particularly the IMAX huge screen in the Science Center. I would also guess s/he might like going out on one of the harbor boat tours.

Right in the Harbor, you might try Legal Seafoods or Phillips for crabs, although I%26#39;m not sure if they will have a soft shell crab po boy specifically.

Thanks for the reply, I saw a review on the hotel that I%26#39;m staying at that mentioned Pier V parking garage. I think I may look into that for parking. It said that it%26#39;s half the price of the hotel%26#39;s parking.

the rusty scupper has good crab but is pricey. not sure about the po boy. your little one and big one will love the maryland science center. they have a toddler/baby room which is great, and they have great stuff for 11 year olds as well. the aquarium while pricey i think would also entertain both, but more hands on stuff at the science center.

take them on a water taxi trip or duck tour of the city also.

or do paddle boats (wait i think they have to be 2 years old for that)

but the taxi ride would be fun. there is also port discovery but i recommend the other places over this.

don%26#39;t go to phillips. theonly good one is in ocean city. the one downtown is a tourist trap.

capital city grille is more for adults but amazing food.

legal seafood is good but a chain and pricey.

you can also try burke%26#39;s cafe, it is a hole in the wall but you might find a po boy type dish. try some of the local bars like wharf rat or dsx, right near convention center, for kid friendly loud type eateries.

they also have an uno%26#39;s and california pizza kitchen.

it is also fun to go to the food pavillion at the harbor and just get a slice of pizza, sandwhich, or crab cake sandwhich or crab soup/etc.

no po-boys, but softshells. po%26#39;boys you can get more easily in new orleans LOL.. not sure i%26#39;d call burke%26#39;s a ';hole in the wall'; either. been there since 1934. great onion rings.

If you are really looking for the authentic Baltimore crab experience, I would get a crab cake at the Cross Street Market in Federal Hill or the Lexington Market downtown. Both are accessible from Inner Harbor (about 15 min walk to either). Cross Street is in a nicer neighborhood for ';sight-seeing';/window-shopping on the way there.
