Trains to Maryland Football game

Need to know what is the best way to get from the inner harbor to College Park for a football game during October.

What is the ';best'; way for you? The fastest? Or the least expensive?

Fastest: Drive a rental car. 35 minutes from the IH to College Park. If you don%26#39;t feel like driving yourself, you could easily take a taxi to the game (~$60), but then you face the challenge of finding one to take you back after the game--I don%26#39;t know if they%26#39;re readily available from Byrd Stadium.

Least expensive: Light rail train to BWI Airport (26 minutes, $1.60). Shuttle to the BWI rail terminal (5 minutes, free). Metrobus B30 from BWI to Greenbelt Metro station. (35 minutes, $3). Metrorail from Greenbelt to College Park station (3 minutes, $1.35). Game-day shuttle from College Park Metro station to Byrd (10 minutes, free).

Would I recommend the least expensive route ($5.95)? No. The best possible transit time **if you miraculously make all your connections without waiting** is 1 hour 19 minutes. If the timing doesn%26#39;t work out perfectly, you face up to nearly two hours of total connection times waiting for a light rail train (30 minutes), the free shuttle at BWI (10 minutes), the B30 (40 minutes), the Metrorail (10 minutes), and the stadium shuttle (20 minutes). When all is said and done, you%26#39;re most likely looking at perhaps two hours from start to finish...possibly up to three hours if you happen to just miss every connection.

I can%26#39;t think of a middle-ground alternative between the two options. I suspect somebody is running an event bus charter open to the public between the IH area and UM games, maybe somebody else knows.

Thanks, I think we will take your advise and use our rental car.
