I just did a trip tic from AAA ,we are coming down from buffalo, ny. I do not have the map with me right now, but when I breezed through it, I notice it took us on a ferry from NJ or Delaware (sorry for the map ignorance. Does anyone know about this ferry. How long does it take? Is that the long way? Cost and do you have to make a reservation to put your car on it. Thanks KO
Info about the Ferry

80 minute trip, reservations strongly recommended--especially in season.
Whether it%26#39;s the long or short way depends on the rest of your route. And if you just miss your ferry, you might have to wait up to 2 hours for the next one. That by itself can instantly make the short way the long way.
Info about the Ferry
Coming from Buffalo, I%26#39;d definitely skip the ferry and use the route suggested by Google Maps or any of the other online mapping services.
The ferry really only starts becoming a good option if you%26#39;re headed between the southern NJ beach areas and the Delaware/Maryland beach areas. It will save you about 150 miles of driving around Delaware Bay if this is the case (but you incur the long boat ride and expense).
And it%26#39;s a good option if you simply want to take a ferry ride, something a lot of us have never done.
Thanks so much for that info. This really helps. I guess we will avoid the ferry, as we really are not sure what time we will get there and would hate to have to wait. Thanks ko
