Trip to Medieval Times Show

My family and I are planning a vacation to the Medieval times show. I was viewing a location called Linthicum, MD. We may also travel to the Aquarium. Is Linthicum a good area and how is the travel from Linthicum to Hanover(Arundel Mills)?

Trip to Medieval Times Show

Linthicum and Hanover are just a few miles apart, so travel is very easy. Linthicum is largely a residential suburb of Baltimore just north of BWI Airport; Hanover is just west of the airport and is made up of corporate office parks, warehouses and Arundel Mills Mall (and the surrounding stores).

Both are safe areas, but other than the Mall, there%26#39;s not a whole lot going on if you%26#39;re there for fun. Most of those visiting the area are either there on business or looking for a hotel close to the airport for a morning flight out.

If you find prices at the Baltimore hotels are too expensive, you can usually get a deal at some of the airport hotels. And the light rail system provides easy, inexpensive access from the area to the attractions of downtown Baltimore.

Another thing you can do for fun while your at Arundel Mills Mall is play some of the arcade games at Dave %26amp; Busters. I%26#39;ve played the trivia game a number of times and really enjoyed it. Another plus to playing the games is you win tickets which you can turn in for various prizes. Mind you, for what you spend on the games, you could probably buy the item for a lot less but, the games are a lot of fun.

If you have any questions about the Medieval Times show and dinner, please let me know and I%26#39;ll do my best to answer them. I know a lot about the place as well as people who work there.

The lightrail system Tubman mentions is easy and cheap as he says. The closest stop to Linthicum would be at the BWI Airport. I don%26#39;t know what it would cost to take it from there to Camden Yards. Otherwise, you%26#39;d have to drive to Glen Burnie and board at their Cromwell Station. The line is an excellent way to visit Baltimore%26#39;s Inner Harbor. You debark at Camden Yards (where the Orioles play) and walk about 2 maybe 3 blocks to the Inner Harbor. The Inner Harbor has a number of things to do including the Aquarium, the USS Constellation and the ESPN Zone. You can also take a water taxi to Fort McHenry which is pretty neat.

We stayed at the Residence Inn in Linthicum and used it as our base to see Baltimore, Annapolis and Washington DC. It was a safe area with lots of big suite hotels. We were very happy with the Residence Inn- we saved a lot of money because they gave a delicious hot and cold breakfast every day and in the evenings on Monday thru Thursday they gave some dinners too. We only ate there on night and they gave us hotdogs and hamburgs which was a nice change from restuarant eating.

We went to Medieval Times on a Thursday and it was fun. The food was good (you eat it with your hands-no untensils). You walk in and get your picture taken with the king and the princess and then you have the option of buying it for $20- we passed. We were told to be there at 5:30 for a 7pm show but we just hung around for an hour and a half which was boring. We did get better seats because we arrived early but I%26#39;m not sure there are any bad seats anyway. for the type of show it is (horse tricks and fighting) i dont%26#39; think it really mattered. The drinks before the show are expensive. They charged $5 for a soda and $7 for a beer. They also tried to push you to buy specialty glasses which would have cost more.

The story line of the show was OK- a jousting match to celebrate a victory in war. turns out there is someone in the show who is a betrayer of the crown and you dont%26#39; know who it is. EAch section gets assigned a knight to cheer for and a few of his allies to cheer for. Other than that you boo at the other knights. People were really having fun cheering for their knights.

The fights are choreographed and sometimes there were things that seemed kind of risky -they jump off their horses a lot and when they fight they used a thing that looked like a stick with a chain and a rock attached to it that would whip through the air and hit the other knight%26#39;s shield. It made a large clang which made me beleive that if the rock missed the shield it could really hurt someone. I wonder if the threat was real or if it was a special effect? Anyway the fighting was like you would see in action movies of that genre.

The Medieval Times show is at the Arundel mall and that mall is huge and quite impressive. We had a good time that night.
