My Restaurant Choices

We leave from NY for OC Friday Aug 3. Staying over in Dover Friday night (dinner suggestions?) to beat the Saturday traffic. Plus we get a full beach day in on Saturday!

I have narrowed down our dining choices based on personal experience and information gathered here.

In no particular order:

Captains Galley

Harrisons

Harborside

Smoker%26#39;s BBQ Pit

Grove Market

Micky Fins

Plantation House

Salvatore

(I am one over!)

Your recent experiences and opinions are most appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

My Restaurant Choices

You must try Anthony%26#39;s (17th %26amp; Coastal) one time for a lunch.

Great roast beef, rueben, pulled pork and turkey sandwhiches or subs. They have pizza and fries but its their fresh meats that is awesome.

My Restaurant Choices

I have gotten some feedback here and at maryland.com about my restaurant choices.

Smoker%26#39;s is take out only so may eliminate that from my list.

Salvatore%26#39;s for Italian does not seem to have any good buzz.

Grove Market may be tough to get a reservation.

That puts me a few short for 7 dinners.

I am thinking of adding Sunset Grille.

Need some Italian restaurant suggestions.

I will have to call Grove later today to see if I can get a reservation.

Any other recommendations for dinner?

Take Plantation House off your list...it%26#39;s closed! Stopped by yesterday afternoon because we wanted to go somewhere I knew wouldn%26#39;t be too crowded, but had good food. Well, the place was closed with some official looking form taped to the front entrance saying ';Failure to pay rent';...what a shame. The place did have some really good food.

tpoid3,

Where have you been?

Definitely dine at the Shark

Where have we been?

We have been to Harrisons, Captains Galley, and will go again on this trip.

Have been to JRs, Crab Alley, BJs, Bonfire, Phillips, Clarion buffet, Green Turtle, Mackys, Nicks, and I am sure I missed a few. None of these are on my list for a return visit.

Tom

Micky Fins

The Grove Market

Galaxy 66

Liquid Assests

Harpoon Hanna%26#39;s

Fish Tales

Fager%26#39;s Island

Tequila Mockingbird

Seacrets

Shenanigan%26#39;s

Ristorante Antipasti

Fausto%26#39;s Bistro

Lighthouse Sound

Buxy%26#39;s Salty Dog

Marlin Moon Grill

Dr. Unk%26#39;s

Big Peckers is good

Some of you regulars that read and post here may have come to realize that I am a bit obsessed with my restaurant plans. You should have seen my posts when I went to Savannah! At least I know a little something about OC. Anyway, I have revised my list based on some closings and additional info. Here is my new plan, in case you care! Of course, opinions are welcome!

Sat Micky Fins

Sun Captains Galley

Mon Grove Market (called for reservation)

Tues Smokers BBQ (need a fish break)

Wed Harborside

Th Italian (Faustos or Ristorante Antipasti - your opinion appreciated)

Fri Sunset Grille

We have dined in many places in OC in the last 20+ yrs. The only place we have been to in the past is Captains Galley. Of course our needs have changed in that time. No longer have little ones to worry about. Now it is just me and the better half!

Tom

Fresco%26#39;s has great Italian food and a great location on the bay.
