Visiting University of Maryland

Hello,

I am going to be visiting the Univeristy of Maryland with a 18 and a 22 year old. Does anyone have any recommendations for things that would be fun?

Which campus will you be vistiing? UM at Baltimore, UM Baltimore County, or UM College Park?

We are visiting College Park.

You are asclose to Washington as to Baltimore. What type of things do you like to do?

College Park actually puts you much closer to Washington, D.C. than to Baltimore (the forum in which you posted). You may want to review the Washington forum, although depending on the length of your stay, you might be able to squeeze in a daytrip in to Baltimore.

I%26#39;d hate to suggest specific museums and memorials if these young adults have no interest and would rather see a shopping mall. What%26#39;s their idea of fun?

As for College Park and the surrounding community, what might be fun for your 18-year-old might not be fun for your 22-year-old. And what might be fun for your 22-year-old may not be legal for the 18-year-old.

If you have not taken your trip tp College Park yet, here are some tips for fun. We took my daughter for a visit (she ended up going to University of MD) and we spent a day at Baltimore Harbor ( about 30 minutes away). Lots of shops, restaurants and beautiful views. My 22 year old and 20 year old loved it. We also spent a day in d.c. Got tickets from our represntative to the white house (no standing in line), but our favorite was the private tour of the senate and house (also thru our rep.) Touring the campus was also nice. A student takes you all around the campus. The town itself has movie theaters, loads of shops and restaurants. You won%26#39;t have to leave the town if you don%26#39;t want..
