Hi - I was wondering if there is a good place in OC to go fishing (I know that sounds obvious), but our friends will be coming with us, and they just want to go somewhere (free) with their fishing rods. My friend is in a wheelchair, and his son is 8, and they%26#39;d like to fish somewhere close. We%26#39;ll be staying near 17th street. Any ideas????

You could fish out on the pier but that has an entrance fee. There is spots out by the marina and on the bayside that is wheelchair accessable. Should have no problem finding a spot to fish.

Try some of these. Also, since you are staying at 17th St., stop in at the bait and tackle shop at the Bahia Marina (22nd St., next to Fish Tales) to find out what%26#39;s biting and what kind of bait to use.
WOW - Thanks for the great info. I printed out the fishing piers page, and we planned on trying Fish Tales for dinner one night, so maybe we%26#39;ll do that early in the week and ask about the fishing.
THANKS!!!
there is plenty of accessible fishing along the bulkhead from 2nd to 4th streets on the bay side! It can be a tad snaggy compared to surf fishing, but it is fun and free. Stop at Oyster Bay tackle somewhere around 15th st. Sue is a wealth of fishing info!
Sorry, Oyster Bay is around 115th St. When are you going?
I%26#39;m packing right now - we%26#39;ll be there tomorrow!
Thanks for the info!
