Seeking Small, intimate venue for meeting

I work for a small liberal arts college in St. Petersburg, Florida, and each year we host small receptions for students and families throughout the country. The receptions are typically held at the mega hotels, i.e; Marriott, Hilton. However, we would like to find a bit more ';homey'; and unique atmosphere for these events. We simply need a space large enough for 100-150 people max..with capabilities to show a presentation on a screen. We have previously hosted the event at the Greenbelt Marriott. The location is great...right off the beltway...but not they type of venue we would like to use....If anyone has any tips...it would be greatly appreciated!

Seeing as you%26#39;ve cross-posted and aren%26#39;t limiting yourself to Maryland, I%26#39;d take a look at the Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va. While they can accomodate very large groups, the grounds are very serene and they have a number of options they can offer other than using the large main building. And you%26#39;re only about 15 minutes from a major airport (Dulles).

Thanks Tubman. We host these in several locations...so I inquired on various forums with corresponding cities. I will check into your suggestion. Most of our students from the area come from northern VA, MD and DC.
