Can you take the train from BWi into Baltimore? If so, is it close to the Inner Harbor area?
can you take the train from the airport?
Depends on what you mean by train.
There is a light rail that goes directly from the airport to several stops downtown and through Baltimore. The Camden Yards and Pratt Street/Convention Center stops are closest to the Inner Harbor.
There is also real train service from the BWI stop near the airport. The MARC commuter train stops at Penn Station. From there, you can catch the light rail or take a short cab ride to the Inner Harbor.

thanks--what is the name of the light rail? Is it right in the airport?
It%26#39;s simply called the Light Rail. The station is at the edge of the (international) terminal, so it does require a bit of walking if you%26#39;re flying domestically. See it at the bottom left corner of this map.

thanks again. My husband and a friend are flying in for the day to go to the ballgame. This seems to be a fairly quick and cheap way for them to get to and from the airport--am I right on this?
Right you are--you can%26#39;t beat $1.60 to take you right to the ballpark (closer than any cars can park) in 26 minutes. The only drawback is that waiting time between trains can be 1/2 hour--so if you just miss one, it could be an hour before you%26#39;re at the ballpark from the airport. If you%26#39;re then pressed for time to make the first pitch, you might want to hop a taxi.
Check their transit website, it tells you the departure schedule. Also, you have to buy a ticket inside the terminal right next to the door to exit to the light rail. There is a fare checker who looks for tickets after you board. It wasn%26#39;t heavily used and I felt pretty safe on board.
