Is there a ';best section'; of the boardwalk?

I haven%26#39;t booked it yet, but I%26#39;m looking into a stay in Ocean City during the 3rd week in August w/my family. This forum has been great for information! I was originally looking into Virginia Beach, but Ocean City looks like it might be better for the kids and it%26#39;s closer to home (Long Island).

We have 2 teenagers - boy 16, girl 13. Just wondering if there is a better area for them to be in to have access to the most activites. Any hotels better or worse for teens?

Of course, I can find this out easily enough, but anyone know about how many hours to drive from LI? Once we get off the island, of course; that always seems to be the longest part of any trip.

Thanks!

I say try www.ocean-city.com

Alot of info and maps. You would probably want to stay somewhere between 28th Street and the Inlet. You can walk to just about anything and if you can%26#39;t, you can bus it for $2 for an all day pass.

Good Luck!

i am going on saturday july 14th ..i have two boys 12 and 8 and we are staying at the holiday inn express at 126th st... behid the hotel is northside park.. nice area ... the have 4 baseball fields an path for roller blading bike riding and a pier for fishing ... the location is quiet but thing to do are close enough..we are from queens ny and have been here a couple of times ...they serve a cont breakfast nice pool . when we go we drive to capemay nj and take the ferry to lewes delaware and drive from there to o.c ..make reservations for the ferry as saturday can be busy please e mail me at robert.carricato@us.icap.com for more info robert

The boardwalk is great the whole lenght but each ends has its advantages. Near 15th st and above to 28th (end) is quiter less shops and activites on the board. Near the inlet to 9th st has the arcades, resturants and many shops. The amusement rides are at the inlet and pier. I would recommend staying somewhere between 2nd st - 14 th. That walking distance is not too bad but trying to walk from 28th street down can be a hike.

Thank you all for your feedback. I%26#39;m thinking Park Place might be the place to stay.

Thanks again!

Park Place is an excellent choice

We stayed @ 27th St last year %26amp; I must say that walking to the lower end of the boardwalk from there is not much fun(unless you are extremely fit). We had my 16 yr old stepdaughter with us %26amp; we ended up spending tons of $$$ on the boardwalk tram because she wanted to spend every waking minute at the lower end of the boardwalk. This year we are staying at 5th St. The boardwalk tram is fun but $2.75 each time you get on.

Sassy - that%26#39;s kind of what I was thinking. I%26#39;m sure the kids are going to want to be where %26#39;the action%26#39; is so we might as well stay as near to that as we can.

I%26#39;ve booked Park Place and I%26#39;m really looking forward to it. Never been to Ocean City.

Thanks again!
