Best Hotel other that HI and Suites

Hello,

I am looking to take my mother and son to OC for three days in late July. We normally stay at the HI and Suites, but the price is $400/night. Can someone recommend an alternative hotel with a nice pool? Or are their short-term rentals somewhere?

I just stayed at the Dunes Manor on 28th st. It%26#39;s got 2 pools that are pretty decent. I stayed on Saturday and the rate was $209.00 which I didn%26#39;t think was too bad for an ocean front room.

Friends of ours stayed at Tidelands and enjoyed it alot. Had a pretty nice pool and bar on the roof.

The Grand is nice, pool was nice to, well the kids loved it anyway.

I stay at the Tidelands Caribbean Hotel and Suites every summer for a little over a week. It is a very nice hotel! The location is great! 5th st on the boardwalk and oceanfront. They have nice effieciencies. Also, they have two-room suites that have a jacuzzi, a kitchenette, a pull out sofa bed, a huge balcony and I could go on and on. The hotel has two pools, one rooftop and the other is on the second floor. They are both really nice. The rooftop is usually the quietiest and the 2nd floor one is the one right next to the pool bar where they blast music and have chairs everywhere to eat your food. The food is really good there! We like the Clarion. There is an outdoor grill %26amp; bar for snacks and drinks. A nice place to stay really. If you go to their website you can get more info on packages and add-ons. http://www.clarionoc.com/

We like to hit the beach then walk up to the patio for lunch and then return to the sand and surf. Usually by the time we%26#39;ve had enough, the small band is starting to play at the outdoor grill. Its a nice time to grab a drink and snack and enjoy a little shade. I hope you have good time.
