I am planning a trip to Ocean City Maryland for August of 2006. My whole family will be going (ages range from 1 to 61). Just wondering if anyone has any info on where I can go to rent a house.
There are about 17 of us going so we would need to find someone who rents larger houses. Please...any info would be extremely helpful.
Also, is there a certain area that is better than others? We don%26#39;t need to be right in the middle of the action.
Thanks for your help.....
Need info on renting a house in Ocean City Maryland?

Rozzi Have you been to OC before????
There are a few houses in the area but most rentals available
for a group your size will be in condos.
You can check this site along with some of the local relators.
Do you live upstate or just north of the city????
Some people think anything north of the Bronx is upstate.

Or you could try one of these relators.
Coldwell Banker is one of the area%26#39;s largest and best known.
August will put you in season so the crowds will be at their peak.
For me a place either mid-town or on the northern end of town would suit me best.
Towards the southern end and Boardwalk area it gets busy day and night and can be noisy.
If you want to travel down there in the day but at night return to a quieter area for the evening.
All just a short ride to get to or you can ride the bus up and down the area.
OC runs north and south with the street numbers increasing as you head north. 1st street would be on the southern end and 144th street would mark the northern end.
Hope this helps you out.
Good luck and have a great time.
Bingo, thanks so much for all the great information. I have never been to OC before so this really helps. I saw something while I was searching about Sunset Island. What%26#39;s the story with that? Is that a nice place? Is it part of OC?
I definitely live ';upstate';. I%26#39;m about 30 minutes south of Albany. Not as far upstate as Plattsburgh but more upstate than Westchester County : )
Thanks again !!!!!
Rozzi, you might want to try www.cyberrentals.com. It has helped me in the past. I would stay away from the south end of OC. This is where a lot of the high school and college kids like to stay and party.

I am not familiar with this particular rental property but the location on 67th and the bayside is a nice area for August.
As suggested I would also advise you not to stay to far towards the southern end of town.
67th street is considered mid town and stays a little calmer and quieter then the southern part.
Sunset Island looks like a real decnet place to saty from the photos and description it is located in OC and within a short ride of all the major attractions.
Oh by the way you are from upstate I was just checking I live in Dutchess county and when my friends come up from the city they look around like they landed in outer space somewhere.
';you live upstate'; Guess when they see grass and trees that tells then they are out of the city and upstate.
OC should make a nice trip for you and your family.
Hope you enjoy your visit. Any other questions just post them.
Enjoy the rest of your summer.
My family has been to OC only twice. We rented a lovely condo oceanfront, 3 bedroom, pool, rec room and security on duty always in the lobby. Our condo was lovely, it has washer, dryer full kitchen chairs umbrellas and was very clean. We are planning on returning next years. There was 7 of us and it was perfect. The Quay is on about 100th st, just go on line www.thequay.com and it will show you prices and pictures of all condo%26#39;s available.
Enjoy your time in OC
HI , Saw your post and thought I could possibly help. I just returned from an OC vacation with 12 of us. six adults six kids. We rented a townhouse at Sunset Isand. (see someone else%26#39;s post below.) It was nice. Had a 4/5 bedroom 4 1/2 bath place. Nice kitchen, living room, family room, laundry and big closets garage and parking for 4 cars. It had 3 open porches and one screened in porch. Those were great. Pros: We all stayed together and cooked home nearly every night. Cons: It is not Ocean Front. We could not find a place big enough on the ocean. we had to drive across the complex then across the 4 lane costal highway to get to the beach each day. Not that inconvienient , but I have stayed on the ocean and it was definitely easier in that respect. All in all we had a good time. Pool was ok. Lots of rules :) no running no holding onto the ladder handle...once an hour its ';adults only swim';.
enjoy. Ocean City is so fun. the ocean is amazing
