Need SUPER CLEAN place to stay......

Our 2 year old son is a former preemie and as a result still has a weaker immune system than most kids his age. We will be taking our first family vacation next June with him to OC. I have never been there, but have been researching it extensively and think it seems like a great place. A big plus is that we can drive there. We were considering destinations such as FL, SC, etc. but I%26#39;ve changed my mind due to fear of flying - not mine, but fear of the recirculated air getting my son sick and our whole vacation being ruined. Plus, OC has gotten great reviews from friends and family of mine.

Since he was hospitalized for the first 2.5 months of his life, I have become somewhat of a germaphobe----not too bad in the summer and in situations that I can control (read: sanitize) but really want to be able to relax and enjoy this trip, even though I will always have my clorox wipes and hand sanitizer with me!

Anyway, could anyone please recommend a hotel on the boardwalk that you know to be really clean--this includes rooms, pool, etc.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

GERMAPHOBE MOMMY! ;-) ;-)

Need SUPER CLEAN place to stay......

We have been staying at Holiday Inn Suites on the boardwalk (17th Street ?) for the last 3 years and found it to be extremely clean. The reviews on this forum are positive for it also.....I think it is ranked #4 at the present time. Also, your son will be a perfect age for their children%26#39;s pool area by next year....it is so much fun! It is quite pricey in peak season (about $400-450 night) but we pay that price because of location, cleansiness and size of suites. In fact, we will once again be staying there for a week in August! Read the hotel reviews and see if you think you%26#39;ll be happy there! We are! (We started staying there when our daughter was 5 years old and she can%26#39;t wait to go back year after year!). Let me know if you need additional information.

Do you need a carpet or tile floor?

I know of a few hotels that offer clean tile floor.

I dislike carpet because of the sand and dirt that gets mashed into a carpet.

Hi and thanks for your replies! I am looking into the first hotel you mentioned.

As far as the tile floor goes, it probably would be a good idea seeing as my little man is all over the place these days. It%26#39;s easier to keep tile germ free (and sand free as you said) than carpet. So any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks again!

PS - I am also from the Burgh! :) Small world!

Hotel Monte Carlo and Tidelands have tile floors and are clean.
